Hi! My name is Amanda Peterson and will be teaching first grade this year. I have spent a lot of time over the summer trying to prepare for whatever this school year may throw at us! So I am excited to finally have kids in my room so we can begin an exciting new “adventure” in first grade! My summer went by very fast and was filled with lots of family time, coaching/watching softball, running kids around, lots of baking and cooking, and catching up on a few projects around the house. I even took some time this quarantine to read some good books!
I am married to Aaron Peterson who is an engineering tech and partner at W Design Associates here in McCook. Aaron and I have 5 children, so I feel like we are always on the run! Andrew is a senior and Sara is now a sophomore at McCook High. Rebecca is an 8th grader, Hannah is a 5th grader, and our youngest daughter Lexi is now in kindergarten. I am excited for what I hope to be a busy fall sports season as I watch my kids participate in football, softball, and volleyball.
I am thrilled to start this new school year, I have missed seeing the kids so very much! As we move forward I try to remind myself daily of a few inspirational quotes from some of my favorite saints:
