Ms. Stephanie Sydow
My name is Steph Sydow and I am the new 5th-8th English and 5th, 8th grades reading teacher. I want to take this time to share a little bit about myself. I have a B.A. in Elementary Education K-6 and Early Childhood. I also have extensive training in Remedial Reading and working with students with learning differences. I previously taught preschool (6 years), Kindergarten (8 years), First Grade (2 years) and Music (1 year). I am an active member of St. Patrick’s church and I also coordinate the fair food booth. I have five children; Ashley, Amber, Aubrey, Aric and Matthew. I am also blessed to be a grandma, “Nama”, to two girls and another granddaughter who will be arriving in November.
Aside from playing with my granddaughters and working with students in the school setting, I enjoy family time, reading and gardening. You may have spotted me at my parent’s business, Common Scents, as I have helped out at the nursery for almost 30 years! I have learned so much throughout my journey in motherhood and education. Respect, communication and a sense of humor are some of the most important factors to a successful year. I am excited to join the St. Pats school family, where I will be working alongside teachers, students and parents, to accomplish the mutual goal of growing in our faith as well as helping students become independent learners.
I look forward to getting to know each of you more throughout the year. If you should have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. I will include contact information in a welcome letter, especially for our class, on the first day of school. God Bless!
